General Course Description"Lost

There are a lot of doglegs left on the front and a lot of doglegs right on the back on this 18-hole, public course south of Bend. But Lost Creek Golf Course is very well maintained, with tall trees and beautiful views of the Cascades. Lost Tracks Golf Club also has a very good practice facility and clubhouse (with some great memorabilia). Forward tees provide better angles. The course is a little hilly, but very walkable. But take a cart unless you know the course (see comments below).

Course History

Completed in 1996. Revisions have been made in the past few years to improve angles and make the driving areas more receptive.

Why It Is There

It was a dream of Brian Whitcomb, past president of the PGA of America. Now the quality of the course and its practice and teaching facilities keep the course active.

I Wish I Would Have Known Before I Played"Lost

Although there are 150 and 100 yardage markers on the cart path and yardage on some sprinklers, the golf carts are equipped with GPS with yardage to holes and hazards. Take a cart.

Did You Know

There is a great golf memorabilia collection in the clubhouse. In addition, there is the “Lost Tracks Racing Garage,” which houses racing cars and old golf carts and is open only on special occasions. (And there is the train car on 16. I was told that it used to house a vast collection of golf tags that players left behind, but they had been cleared out when I played the course.)

Good For Them

Participant of PGA Junior League, holds multiple golf camps for juniors in the summer, and works extensively with Bend Parks and Recreation to encourage new young golfers. Annually holds multiple charity events including for Deschutes County Search and Rescue.

Why Play This Course"Lost

A very well-maintained course with stunning views and a good practice facility. A good course, good value, and a relaxing time.
